Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Where is the cinema? The cinema is on the ground floor of Devonshire House on the Streatham Campus, in the Music & Drama room.
  2. What time is the screening? We do earlier screenings at either 6 or 6:30pm, depending on how long the film is, and we have a later screening at 9pm. You can buy tickets on the door half an hour before each screening.
  3. Can I bring friends/parents? Is it just for students? The cinema is open to the public, so feel free to bring anyone!
  4. How much are tickets? Standard tickets are £3.50 (the cheapest cinema tickets in Exeter!). Or, if you have a membership, tickets are £2.
  5. When are you showing <film>? All upcoming screenings are listed on our Facebook page and on our website.
  6. I’m interested in helping out, what do I do? Our cinema is entirely volunteer-run, so we’d love to have more people help out! Just speak to a committee member in person at one of our screenings, and we’ll be more than happy to guide you!
  7. I’d like to recommend a film to screen. Great! First of all, feel free to check our current programme to see if it’s not already on there. If not, you can either message the page or speak to a committee member in person at one of our screenings, and we’ll be more than happy to consider it for our next programme.
  8. I’m part of a charity or society and we’d be interested in screening <film> with you. Getting the rights to screen any film costs around £270 (though this may be higher or lower depending on the film). If you’re still interested with this knowledge in mind, feel free to message the page or speak to a committee member at one of our screenings.
  9. Can I reserve a ticket? We only sell tickets to members of the public, outside of a pre-arranged agreement with a society, on the door half an hour before each screening on a first-come, first-served basis.
  10. I’m part of a society and would like to collaborate with you on a film you are already screening. Great! Doing this means that you buy tickets from us in bulk to sell to your members at a discounted price of £3 each. Message the page or contact a committee member and we can arrange this.
  11. What snacks do you sell and how much are they? We sell bags of popcorn for 60p each or 2 for £1. We also sell different types of chocolate and Haribo sweets for £1 a bag. Regarding any dietary requirements or allergies, feel free to check the bags on the door before the screening starts.
  12. Can I bring my own snacks? Of course! But please do not leave the rubbish in the cinema at the end of the screening.
